Does a 1940 p08 have strawed parts like the earlier guns, or were the germans already to the point where they just blued the entire thing? WebSep 12, 2016 · Nickel corrodes - nickel oxide is either green or black, depending on the oxidation state. If you are seeing brown corrosion, you're seeing iron oxide (i.e. rusted steel), which means the nickel plating has worn through. Removing the rust will just leave exposed steel that will re-rust eventually.
